What do Santa Barbara's recent World's Polo Championship, FIESTA and the German, French and Irish Festivals have in common? They are all Celtic! Now, learn more about our first European ancestors and celebrate the Celtic "New Year" (Halloween) at The Santa Barbara Celtic Arts and Music Festival on October 30-31 and November 1st at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.
A Rousing weekend is scheduled with 15 bands appearing on three stages, Irish and Scottish dancers, bagpipe bands, dozens of Scottish clans, Celtic and Roman reenactment groups meeting in daily battles. An Irish Pub will serve Celtic food and beverages, Celtic costumers will be playing trick or treat. An especially unique feature is the Celtic New Year Costume Ball on Saturday night.
Celtic artists and crafters from across America will be displaying their wares and supporting silent auctions benefiting the Celtic-American Heritage Foundation and The Irish Children's Fund.
A reception and opening ceremony at 5:00pm on friday will kick off the weekend. Regular festival hours Saturday and Sunday are 10am-6pm. Admission at the door is $14/$12 in advance (advance ticket order form), seniors and students $12/$10 in advance and children under 6 are free. The Costume Ball begins at 8pm on Saturday and concludes with a Celtic Fire Ceremony at midnight. The Costume Ball is $18/$16 in advance seperately or can be included in Special Weekend Packages.
