FireSno Aerial Foam System

Information Sheet
The FireSno Aerial Foam System* is a pressurized system for delivering high expansion foam with rotary-wing aircraft. The expansion ratio may be adjusted from 12-20 to 1 as the foam pressure unit is loaded. Up to 5000 gallons of expanded foam may be delivered per load.

With an adjustable foam expansion ratio and split load capability, it allows for easy matching to fuel types, temperature, and wind conditions.

Some of the advantages of expanded foam when compared to water or wet-water are: 

1. Slower evaporation rate
2. Good adherence to vertical fuels
3. Reduced runoff
4. 2-3 times greater coverage area
5. Light delivered weight to ground, safer for ground personnel
6. Cost effective
7. More effective in pretreatment, direct attack, and mop-up
8. Enhanced structure protection
